The FAA-A&P exam, designed to certify competency in aircraft structure and engine maintenance, is a comprehensive process that typically takes place over a six-day period. This includes both written and oral practical examinations. These six days enable candidates to go through every aspect of the exam in depth.

  • Airframe : This exam tests your knowledge of the construction, maintenance and repair of aircraft structures.
  • Powerplant: This covers aircraft engines, including operation, maintenance and repair.

Once you have passed the written exams, you can move on to the oral practical exams. These consist of demonstrations of practical skills in the maintenance of airframes and powerplants. Examiners test your ability to perform specific tasks to FAA standards.

– Airframe:

During this part of the exam, the examiner will ask you oral questions about aircraft structure maintenance. You will also be asked to perform practical tasks to demonstrate your competence.
